Yes. Finnish tap water is among the cleanest and safest in the world. Tap water is drinkable and of very high quality. For hot water you can use the coffee machine provided in each igloo. Do not use hot water from the tap.
The tap water is very pure in Finland, and especially in Lapland. We highly recommend tap water for drinking. You can also purchase mineral water from the reception.
Each igloo is furnished with a mini fridge. You can also purchase sparkling wine, wines, beer and other beverages from the lounge bar.
Yes, each igloo and panorama sauna suite are furnished with a Nespresso coffee maker (provides also hot water). Coffee capsules and tea are included in the price of the igloo.
Yes. A housekeeping service will do a light cleaning, make the bed, take out the trash and change the towels every second day. You can always ask for new towels and more coffee capsules and tea at the reception.
Our reception is open 8.00-22.00 (8.00 am to 10 pm). If you are arriving later, please inform us minimum 7 days prior to arrival at sales@auroraqueenresort.fi.
We do not have room service.
We provide toboggans for delivering your luggage to the igloo. If you have many pieces of luggage or limited mobility, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you with the luggage delivery.
You can drive your car in front of the igloo for leaving or picking up your luggage. Parking area is in front of the reception, and parking is not allowed at the proximity of the igloos due to emergency reasons.
Yes, we have luggage storage at the reception.
Yes, each igloo has its own heating system. All Igloos are set to Finnish normal room temperature 22°C (71.6°F). The room temperature is controlled from the reception.
Yes, there are window heaters in every Igloo to melt the accumulated snow. The heaters are controlled automatically from the reception. Please note that the window heaters can’t be used during snowfall.
The lounge bar and reception are open every day from 8.00-22.00 (8.00 am to 10.00 pm).
Our resort is designed for peaceful stays and romantic getaways for adults. Because of these reasons the minimum age for children is 10 years.
Our check-in is at 16.00 (4.00 pm). However, we do our best to let you check in as early as possible. In case of an early arrival, you can wait in our lounge bar. A luggage storage is also available at the reception.
Unfortunately we cannot provide late check-outs in order to let the igloo be ready in time for the next guest. The check-out time is at 11.00 am. Guests with late departures are welcome to enjoy our lounge area. The luggage storage is available at the reception.
Yes. Each igloo is furnished with a free private Wifi. Additionally, there is free Wifi in our main building (restaurant, lounge bar, and reception).
There are limitations for pregnant women on the safaris. Pregnant women can participate in the calm activities, such as snowshoeing and aurora hunting with a minivan. Husky and snowmobile safaris are not suitable for the pregnant due to the higher accident risk.

From November to March in Saariselkä the temperatures can vary between +5°C and -35°C. Usually the temperatures vary between -10°C and -20°C. We recommend packing warm clothes, such as merino wool underlayers, woolen sweaters, thermal jacket and pants, winter boots, scarf, hat and mittens. The best way to keep warm in arctic temperatures is to dress in many layers, so make sure you have many pieces of clothing!
Unfortunately we do not have winter clothing for rental. For snowmobile safaris we offer thermal clothing to complement your own winter gear (also for Husky / Reindeer safaris).
There is no phone.
We do not have laundry service or washing machines available.
There is no microwave available.
