With over 25 years’ experience of entrepreneurship in the home décor sector, they are no strangers to running a business. “More than anything, we wanted to create the sort of place that we would like to visit ourselves,” Nina says. “Lapland is close to our hearts, and we return there on our travels again and again.”
The couple are avid travellers, in fact, and have journeyed far and wide around the world. While being inspired by the many places they have seen, they both have one favourite destination above all others: the Saariselkä region in Lapland.
“There is just nowhere that compares to Finnish Lapland for us. The peace and tranquillity, the pristine and unpolluted environment, the silence and the beauty are things that never fail to draw us in, giving us inner peace and serenity whenever we visit. We now want to offer others the same opportunity, and to show off what is one of the true jewels not only of Finland, but of the world.”
Preserving the region’s untouched nature is also important for the resort’s entrepreneurs, and that is why efforts are made to make Aurora Queen as eco-friendly as possible. Geothermal heating, solid wood structures and solar panels were all obvious choices.
Nina and Pasi hope that, as they have, visitors will fall in love with the allure of Lapland and all it has to offer, and they will do their utmost to ensure everyone has an unforgettable stay!
